New Jersey based pop-punk band Wolfox to release their first EP, “Sinking”

Hamilton, New Jersey — Jaul Records is thrilled to announce the release of “Sinking EP” from New Jersey pop-punk band Wolfox, which is the group’s first extended release of all-new material after two singles, available wherever you get music on September 16th, 2022.

The EP features five unique songs spanning the genres of pop, blues, hardcore, emo, and folk, each infused with Wolfox’s unique alternative punk sound.

“We made the kind of music we wish we heard more of”, remarks Wolfox’s singer Connor Kruysman. His characteristic crooning is featured in full-force on the opening song, “Phantom”. The modern pop-punk ballad starts off slowly and crescendos to showcase the band’s full capability by its final chorus.

The second track, “Blur”, contains something new and something old in that it opens with a modern and electronic pop-punk sound which it follows up with lyrical and musical nods to the blues when the first chorus comes swinging around.

“Sinking EP” is the latest project from Jaul Records, which is guitarist and recording engineer Paul Jones’ studio and record label. Previously Jaul Records recorded and released “Teetering” and “Warning Signs” with Wolfox, in May and June of this year respectively, and “Demonstration Tape” from hardcore band Human Target before that.

You can hear the influence of hardcore on the EP’s third track, “Thorns”, which brings pop-punk sensibilities to that genre, with lyrics about not backing down or giving up. “I made the drums on ‘Thorns’ extremely high-energy and aggressive, trust me, you want this song on your gym playlist”, comments drummer Zak Zielinksi.

The emotional fourth track, “Sinking”, showcases another side of the members’ talents, exploring regret and longing. “This was the first track to be completed, and when we heard it altogether it was a ‘eureka’ moment for the sound we were searching for”, remarks Paul.

“We have put more than just our blood, sweat, and tears into making these songs,” says bassist and vocalist Mike Bearce, “We put all our hearts and minds into these songs too.” Mike’s songwriting and singing are featured on the EP’s epic acoustic closing track, “Fine”.
